On death and mortality...

St. Francis of Assisi, who is depicted here with a skull. This is
because he constantly contemplated about death.

The death of a good friend recently has led me thinking about my own existence here on earth. His death is a violent one. And worst, his death is full of mysteries and scandals.

This event inspired me to think about my own mortality. Fear has somewhat gripped me...that death may really occur anytime of the day, like a thief in the night.

How will I die? Will I die unknown to the world? Will I go to heaven? Will I leave a legacy? Will I die in vain?

These questions kept on hammering my head! And this has only strengthened my desire to offer my life completely to God so that my life would not be wasted. I hope that I will die a happy death in old age! :-) St. Joseph, patron of happy death, pray for us!
